Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 2.1

Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 2.1

“What if the world is holding its breath — waiting for you to take the place that only you can fill?”     ~David Whyte~

No One Special

My life has been nothing

of importance

I haven’t done anything

memorable or helped

cure any dread disease

A life that has nothing

to be remembered when

I no longer walk through

this realm

At a low point a few

days ago, a childhood

friend told me something

she always felt about me

It has been a blessing to

reconnect with her after

so many years

… and that simple yet

powerful statement from

her made my day …

lifted my spirits …

And …

made me think perhaps

I will matter to someone

after all

You matter, Annie…to the aspiring writers you encourage, to anyone who sees truth on your TL’s, and to the students you interacted with in your teaching and administering days. Believe me…it’s true. Glad you made that connection, though. Everybody can stand a boost from time to time.
