Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 2.9 – Memories

The prompt for this week is the following quote:

“Sometimes the memory of someone is better than the reality of them.” ~Steve Maraboli

Memories

You gave me so much

Taught me even more

Showed me things I had never seen

Shared experiences that will last forever

Little did we know our time was limited

That each time we had together was

a time of making memories

Those memories are like a mental album

One I can flip through when the longing..

the missing …

the pain …

gets too much to bear

Memories are all I have …

So beautiful Annie, I can feel the pain yet I can feel the comfort of the memories as well. Beautifully written.

Sad but so lovely, Annie. He was clearly memorable. And I’m glad you have good memories.
