Writing Outside the Lines – Prompt 52

Silver Surprise

The day had been

FRUSTRATING …

One that pushed me

outside to cool my

temper and calm

my troubled mind

A walk in the woods

nearby would ground me

hopefully rest my soul

My body, mind and soul

screamed to feel the

damp earth beneath my

feet and cool leaves

tickling my toes

My route took me deeper

into the woods than

usual for my walk

To my left the trees

fluttered in a sudden breeze

showing a flash of silver

bushed back in the leaves

and ferns … what is there?

Moving back supple branches

I can see a little two person

fishing boat seemingly

abandoned in the undergrowth

Why?

Who?

No answers …

But finding this little

abandoned boat brought

an unexpected peach

to me I couldn’t describe

Tears ran down my cheeks

in sweet release …

A burden lifted …

And…

My soul cleansed as

I found my way HOME
